One quick hour drive from Marrakech (30km), the Ourika Valley is located on the bottom of the northern slopes of the Atlas Mountains, filled with traditional built Berber houses.
Although its close proximity to Marrakech, the Ourika Valley’s culture and traditions are well preserver and untouched after so many years of modernization of Marrakech itself. The road to Ourika valley that you will visit throughout this excursion is made along the Ourika river.
While on a visit to Ourika expect impressive nature, magnificent mountain views and gorgeous little villages. The road of this Ourika excursions ends at Setti Fatma located at 1500m altitude within the heart of the valley and with views to the enormous Atlas peaks.
Details of excursion to Ourika Valley
Departure from Marrakech at 9:00 in minibus. You will discover the Monday Berber souk at Tnine Ourika, a gathering place for surrounding villages (depending on the day of the week there is a souk in other villages).
Departure to Setti Fatma – Traditional lunch in a typical restaurant on the banks of the river. Walk of about two hours to the waterfalls. Return to Marrakech in the afternoon. On day when there is no souk you can visit the Menara gardens.
